Furstrating

Bell seems to have this Boone quality to him. I was reading on the Royals website about how Huber is looking for playing time. Bell made the statement about young players needing to slow the game down. That statement made me think about how he has player the younger player, very little, and used the veterans more than they should have been. There seems to be this double standard, Robinson and Berroa have played some awful defense this year yet Huber doesn’t get a chance. Teahan and Buck combined can’t hit there weight, only Teahan get sent down. This is one frustrating team!

Desperate Move

Monday night after the Royals lost to the Detroit Tigers, the Royals replaced their hitting coach. This move was made in desperation in hopes of saving Allard Baird's job. About two weeks ago David Glass made the statement that the Royals must improve or changes will be made. The next day he back off the statement a little and had meetings with all of the Royals top brass, including Bell. With little success since Allard switched hitting coach's. The major league teams coach is now the roving hitting instructor while the roving instructor is now the major league coach. This is the 3rd hitting coach in 12 months. This pattern is the same with the pitching coach. To me it is apparent that the direction of the club is unstable, how can the team have any success if the coach's are always different? The next move made by the Royals front office had better be Baird being replaced. Just my opinion.

Buck!

Last year the Royals had a giveaway of John Buck shirts. The big thing that day was everyone asking if the beers were the same cost as his average, just under .200. He did get his average up by the end of the year to .242. This year is another amazing start for John, after tonight's game he is at .190. And last year John wore #2, now he is donning #14, he and Tony Graffanino traded numbers. Here is a news flash, the new numbers is not working for either one so far!

Same Results

Last year the Royals started the year 5 and 17. This year the Royals started the year, not counting tonight's game, 5 and 17. Looks like a great return on the 22 million or so spent in the off season.
